This page is to show you how and why I like to use the Mozilla Firefox web browser. A web browser is a program that you use to surf the web. You are using a web browser to view this web page. If you are like most of the world, then you are probably using Internet Explorer. I like the Firefox web browser because I believe it is more secure than Internet Explorer. I often let my clients know that if a person wants to cause the most damage, they are going to pick the program that's most popular. I don't mean to say that Internet Explorer is unsafe or that there are no security concerns with Firefox, but Internet Explorer is definitely the most popular web browser on the market today and has been exploited far more than any other browser.
Firefox is available at http://www.mozilla.com. Firefox can be downloaded and installed rather easily. Once you've installed it, one of the first places you will want to go is to the Firefox addons website to download the adblock extension. An addon is a little program that allows you to do more things with Firefox. There are hundreds of them and you may like to use more than I do.
You can download the adblock extension from here. Once it is installed, you will need to restart Firefox and subscribe to the Easylist which is a list of advertising websites which want to advertise to you while you are surfing the web.
