I have a home office with 6 Macs and 2 PCs all connected by ethernet and/or Airport to hubs and a DSL modem. There a good number of scanners, printers, and peripherals. My system has grown piece by piece over the past ten years and it is now quite complicated. I was very impressed at the immediate comprehension Mr. Hein displayed when he visited me to refine my networking. Had I been left to unravel and update my networks I can imagine it would have taken me at least a full day. Jeremy did a fine job in about an hour.

In my estimation, Mr. Hein is a brilliant young computer scientist--quick to grasp computer systems and networks. He is very efficient in doing the work promptly--and for a most reasonable price.

I am the owner of a small business in San Francisco, Appliance Sales and Service, and depend heavily upon our computer system to operate my business. Last summer our company suffered the loss of our IT person who left the company without warning, and left a computer system running on old technology, password protected, and with no documentation. In addition, this person closed and deleted critical files to our operation that left our company in a real crisis.

I was referred to Jeremy Hein, who came into our company from July, 2002 until September, 2002 and virtually put our entire computer back together with several improvements; most importantly, he left the system running so that a non computer literate individual, such as myself, could either run the system or have all documentation necessary to bring in a consultant when necessary.

Jeremy was quick and efficient in analyzing our technical and administrative needs, and put together a plan which definitively fit our needs, our budget, and solved our immediate crisis. Jeremy set up a new file server using Windows technology, then found a way to convert each of our 21 password protected work stations to link to our new server. In addition, he converted several of the old DOS based programs to Windows programs, and set up a backup system I could administer. He did much of the work after normal workhours, so it would not interrupt our retail operation.

Jeremy left the Bay Area in September to move to Florida to pursue another opportunity, but continued to monitor our systems from Florida, assisting us several times without charge. Our system crashed several months ago, and Jeremy worked closely with the computer consultants here to restore our files and get the system up and running.

I know Jeremy only through the work he did for us, but my observations are as follows:

Jeremy is an extremely intelligent and mature individual who puts 100% effort into his work. He is very responsible and takes great pride in assuring that all aspects of his work are fully implemented and operational. I also see Jeremy as a very caring individual who has empathy and understanding , and showed a genuine desire to see our company work its way throught our crisis.

I was also impressed at how quickly he was able to implement all of the changes to our system. Throughtout the time he assisted us, he not only kept me orally informed, but left me with accurate and well organized documentation.
